The official website for Takopi’s Original Sin has released a new promotional video featuring a short version of the anime’s opening theme. The six-episode limited series will premiere on June 28 and stream on platforms including Netflix, Prime Video, and ABEMA.
The opening theme, titled “Happy Lucky Chappy,” is performed by the artist ano. The short trailer gives fans a glimpse of the anime’s tone—blending bright visuals with hints of emotional depth.
The voice cast includes:
- Kurumi Mamiya as Takopi
- Reina Ueda as Shizuka
- Konomi Kohara as Marina
- Anna Nagase as Azuma
The anime is directed and composed by Shinya Ino, with Keita Nagahara handling character designs. Other key staff include Sagako Itakura as background art director, Yuki Akimoto as color designer, and Yu Wakabayashi as compositing director. Animation production is handled by studio ENISHIYA.
Based on the hit manga by Taizan 5, Takopi’s Original Sin tells the story of Takopi, a creature from the Happy Planet who arrives on Earth to spread joy. However, he quickly encounters Shizuka, a girl burdened by sadness both at school and at home. Moved by her unhappiness, Takopi sets out to bring light into her life.
But beneath the surface lies a darker, more emotional story. As MANGA Plus describes, “What truths await him when the curtains rise in this shocking drama?”
The series promises a powerful blend of innocence and tragedy, exploring deep themes in a compact format.
