The soft-spoken romantic comedy anime Aharen-san wa Hakarenai has announced a special guest appearance in its latest episode. ACA-Ne, the vocalist behind the popular music project ZUTOMAYO, will make a voice cameo in Episode 10.
In this episode, Aharen becomes fascinated with musicals and starts speaking in a theatrical style. This new habit soon spreads to other students at her school. ACA-Ne’s brief vocal role includes a line about “tuna mayo sandwiches and our bread,” as shared by the artist.
ZUTOMAYO also performs the opening theme for this season, titled “Binetsuma.” Fans will recognize ACA-Ne’s voice not only in the music but now also within the show itself.
The anime is directed by Yasutaka Yamamoto (Nekopara) and Tomoe Makino (Kotaro Lives Alone) at Felix Film studio. Takao Yoshioka (Horimiya) handles series composition, while Yuko Yahiro (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) is responsible for character designs. The music is composed by Satoru Kosaki and MONACA (Hitoribocchi no Marumaruseikatsu). The series is adapted from the manga by Asato Mizu, creator of DENKI-GAI.
Aharen-san wa Hakarenai is currently streaming on Crunchyroll. The story follows socially awkward Aharen-san, who struggles with personal boundaries. When a classmate named Raido picks up an eraser she drops, Aharen considers them best friends. Together, they share everyday moments like studying, playing arcade games, and eating lunch. The series highlights how unexpected friendships can grow in surprising ways.
