The upcoming fantasy romance anime Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter has released a new character trailer featuring Ellie, a maid serving the Howard family. Ellie is voiced by Kyoka Moriya. The series is set to premiere in Japan on July 5, 2025.
The anime adapts the light novel series written by Riku Nanano. The novels began online on the Kakuyomu website in October 2017. The printed version, illustrated by cura, started under Fujimi Fantasia Bunko in December 2018, with 19 volumes published so far. A manga adaptation by Tamura Muto began serialization in September 2019, and four volumes are currently available.
Nobuyoshi Nagayama (AYAKA) directs the anime at Studio Blanc, assisted by Kazuya Ishikura. Megumi Shimizu handles series composition, Akiko Toyoda designs the characters, and Kei Haneoka composes the music.
J-Novel Club publishes the English versions of both the light novel and manga. The story follows Allen, a young sorcerer who fails his final exam for a royal court job and hopes to live quietly in the countryside. However, he needs money and takes a tutoring job for Tina Howard, the duke’s daughter. Despite her intelligence, Tina cannot cast spells, and the Royal Academy’s entrance exams require magical ability. Allen must use his unique spellcasting skills to help Tina overcome her magical challenges, all while navigating the duke’s true intentions.
