The dance and vocal group MADKID will release their 11th CD single, Resolution, on August 20, 2025, in Japan. The title track serves as the opening theme for the highly anticipated fourth season of The Rising of the Shield Hero anime.
Formed in 2014 and making their major debut in 2018, MADKID has performed all opening themes for the Shield Hero anime since its first season in 2019. Their songs have gained significant popularity overseas, amassing over 32 million views on YouTube. The group has also expanded their global presence, performing anime theme songs and holding live shows in countries including the U.S., Canada, Germany, and Mexico.
The CD single will include both the original Japanese version and an English lyric version of Resolution, along with the song MAZE, written and composed by Koji Ide, known for his work with Johnny & Associates’ boy idol groups such as SMAP and Kinki Kids.
Following the first season in 2019, the second in 2022, and the third in 2023, the fourth season of The Rising of the Shield Hero premiered in Japan in July 2025. Crunchyroll streams all seasons simultaneously in multiple regions, including North America, Europe, and Oceania.
The series follows Iwatani Naofumi, an ordinary otaku summoned to another world as the Shield Hero. Betrayed early on, he loses everything and must rely on his slave Raphtalia to fight the Waves of Catastrophe and seek a way to overcome his dire circumstances.
Resolution continues MADKID’s legacy as the voice of the Shield Hero franchise and sets the tone for the new season’s epic journey.
