Voice actor Kisho Taniyama, known for roles such as Tatsuya Himuro in Kuroko’s Basketball and Chuya Nakahara in Bungo Stray Dogs, will release a new photo book to celebrate his 50th birthday. The book will be published by Tokyo News Tsushinsha and is set for release on August 8, 2025, just three days before his birthday on August 11.
Taniyama is also the vocalist KISHOW of the Japanese rock band GRANRODEO. This will be his second photo book, following KROSS OVER, which was shot by renowned photographer Leslie Kee in 2023.
The photo book’s concept is “Past, Present, and Future,” reflecting Taniyama’s 50 years of life. The shoot features him in various settings: revisiting his school days as a former track team member, working on writing at a traditional Japanese inn, enjoying a game arcade in Tokyo reminiscent of his youth in the Heisei era, and posing in glamorous shots at a luxury hotel. The “Future” section shows intimate moments, such as waking up and cooking for a future partner, designed to delight fans.
In a handwritten message, Taniyama said, “As I approach my 50th year of age, I am now forced to publish another photo book, shamelessly. I shouldn’t do that, but the decision has already been made, so there is nothing I can do. Please take a look at it anyway. I might be able to give some courage to some people as a star of middle-aged people.”
