Singer-songwriter Tatsuya Kitani’s official YouTube channel has released a remix music video for Where Our Blue Is (Acoustic ver.), the theme song for JUJUTSU KAISEN: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie.
Kitani originally wrote and arranged the opening theme Where Our Blue Is (known as Ao no Sumika in Japan) for the Hidden Inventory / Premature Death arc of the JUJUTSU KAISEN TV anime series. For the compilation film based on this arc, he created an acoustic remix version of the song. This new video offers a “re-interpretation” with unused footage from the original music video and features a significantly altered color palette.
The movie premiered in 150 theaters across Japan on May 30, 2025. Crunchyroll has announced plans to release the film internationally this summer. It will be shown in select territories, including France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Latin America, and Australia, in both Japanese with subtitles and dubbed formats.
JUJUTSU KAISEN: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie is based on the popular supernatural shonen manga by Gege Akutami. The film is directed by Shota Goshozono, with Hiroshi Seko handling series composition and screenplay. Music is composed by Yoshimasa Terui, and the animation is produced by MAPPA.
Crunchyroll currently streams both seasons of the JUJUTSU KAISEN TV anime and the prequel movie JUJUTSU KAISEN 0. The company describes the new movie as:
“The innocent spring that the two strongest lost forever.”
The story goes back to spring 2006, when Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto were high school students and powerful Jujutsu Sorcerers. They had no equal enemies when they received a mission from Tengen, a key figure in Jujutsu society who possesses the cursed technique of Immortality.
Their mission was to escort and eliminate Riko Amanai, the Star Plasma Vessel, a young girl crucial to Jujutsu society’s future. However, their task was threatened by a Sorcerer Killer named Fushiguro, who aimed to assassinate Riko.
This film reveals the events that led to the split between Gojo, the strongest sorcerer, and Geto, who became a notorious curse user.
