The official website for the TV anime Sakamoto Days has released the main trailer for its upcoming second part. The trailer confirmed that the second part will premiere on July 14, 2025, and introduced a new opening theme song titled “Method”, performed by the five-member Japanese rock band Kroi.
Kroi’s Role in the Anime
Kroi, a band formed in 2018, debuted under the IRORI Records label, part of Pony Canyon, in June 2021. Their song “Method” marks their third anime theme song contribution. The band previously provided the opening songs “Hyper” for the UNDER NINJA anime in 2023 and “Sesami” for BUCCHIGIRI?! in 2024.
In a message posted on the anime’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, Kroi shared their excitement about the project:
“After reading the original Sakamoto Days manga, we were immediately drawn into its world. We are especially excited to be involved with the second part, where we found many scenes that we personally love. It’s an honor to be the opening theme artist.”
Soundtrack and Themes of the Opening Song
The band went on to describe how they approached the song’s sound: “In the second cour, the contrast between daily life and battle intensifies. We wanted to express this shift by adding a bit of tension, using disquieting phrases while maintaining the liveliness of everyday moments.”
They also expressed hope that listeners would connect with the song’s deeper message: “We hope that there will be a moment when you realize the importance of protecting the everyday and the happiness it brings. We encourage you to listen to it often.”
