The yuri manga “Does It Count If You Lose Your Virginity to an Android?” by Yakinikuteishoku will soon be adapted into an anime. The adaptation is described as a short TV anime and is scheduled to premiere in 2026.
The anime is being produced by the Deregula label from WWWave, known for previous works such as Yandere Dark Elf: She Chased Me All the Way From Another World! and Chuhai Lips: Canned Flavor of Married Women.
Manga creator Yakinikuteishoku shared the news with fans by releasing a new illustration and an official statement:
“Does It Count If You Lose Your Virginity to an Android? is getting an anime adaptation! When I first heard the news, I was completely surprised. It felt like it came out of nowhere! But now that it’s real, I’m very excited to see Akane and Nadeshiko moving and speaking on screen. To everyone who has been reading the series, I’d be so happy if you would look forward to the anime with me! There’s still some time before it airs, but I’ll do my best to keep the excitement going until the premiere. Thank you for your continued support!”
The manga began in 2021 in Comic Yuri Hime magazine. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the English version and describes the story as follows:
Tsuda Akane, a 28-year-old office lady, appears to have her life together. She is beautiful, intelligent, and a key employee at a robotics company. At work, she is admired by her colleagues. However, they do not know her private life. At home, Akane’s apartment is a complete mess, resembling a landfill more than a living space.
One night, after drinking too much, Akane orders an android named Nadeshiko to help clean her apartment. However, things take an unexpected turn. The android that arrives is not just a helper, but a seductive and flirtatious beauty. Akane soon finds herself getting more “service” than she ever expected.
