Konami continues to expand its Suikoden brand, and fans of the long-running RPG series were treated to some exciting news during the company’s latest Suikoden Live Broadcast on May 15, 2025. The livestream, hosted on Konami’s official YouTube channel, focused primarily on the upcoming mobile game Suikoden STAR LEAP, but also included fresh updates on the highly anticipated Suikoden II anime adaptation.
Anime Update: More Than One Season Planned
The Suikoden II anime was first announced during the franchise’s March 2025 livestream. Since then, fans have been eager for more information. During the second broadcast, Suikoden IP producer Rui Naito addressed the project at the 1:50 mark of the stream. Naito acknowledged the flood of fan questions and confirmed that the anime will not be limited to a single season.
“I aim to finish the story of the anime’s hero and Jowy,” Naito said, indicating that a single cour would not be enough to tell the full story. While an exact episode count has not been announced, fans can expect multiple seasons. This signals Konami’s commitment to giving the adaptation the time it needs to explore the beloved game’s deep narrative.
