In a unique fusion of anime and America’s favorite pastime, Jujutsu Kaisen fans in the U.S. will soon have a chance to celebrate their love for the hit series at the ballpark. Major League Baseball (MLB), Toho Animation, and Crunchyroll are partnering to host a special Jujutsu Kaisen-themed game night with the Texas Rangers on July 1 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
During the Rangers’ game against the Baltimore Orioles, fans who purchase “theme night” tickets will receive limited-edition baseball jerseys inspired by the anime. The exclusive design features the word “Sorcerer” in place of player names and includes vivid neon-blue streaks that reference protagonist Yuji Itadori’s jujutsu energy.
This crossover is more than a marketing move—it connects with the anime itself. In Jujutsu Kaisen, baseball plays a memorable role during the “Kyoto Goodwill Event” arc, where students from Tokyo and Kyoto Jujutsu High engage in a friendly yet revealing baseball match. That chapter, titled “Jujutsu Koshien,” first appeared in the manga on April 8, 2019.
Anime and Baseball Continue to Collide
This isn’t MLB’s first anime collaboration. Earlier this year, the Boston Red Sox hosted a One Piece night on May 3, featuring themed jerseys and a ceremonial first pitch thrown by a fan dressed as Monkey D. Luffy. A One Piece card game demo was also part of the festivities.
In Japan, the MLB World Tour Tokyo Series included a promotional collaboration with Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, offering exclusive merchandise to fans attending pre-season games.
What’s Next for Jujutsu Kaisen?
Following the conclusion of Season 2 in December 2023, the Jujutsu Kaisen anime has been on a brief hiatus. However, a new compilation film covering the “Hidden Inventory” and “Premature Death” arcs is set to hit Japanese theaters on May 30, with a U.S. release planned for July 16.
Studio MAPPA has confirmed that the next anime sequel will focus on the intense “Culling Game” arc, though no official release date has been announced. A teaser visual for the sequel was released in December 2024.
Tickets for “Jujutsu Kaisen Night” are available on MLB’s official website. The anime is currently streaming on Hulu, Crunchyroll, and Netflix. The manga, created by Gege Akutami, is published in English by VIZ Media.
