The upcoming fantasy romance anime Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter has released a new special visual featuring Lydia, the eldest daughter of the Leinster family. The illustration shows Lydia in a relaxed pose, offering a lap pillow—a fan-favorite trope—just ahead of the anime’s July 2025 broadcast.
Lydia is known in the series as both a noble heiress and a master swordswoman. The new artwork was unveiled on the anime’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.
Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter is directed by Nobuyoshi Nagayama (AYAKA) at Studio Blanc. Kazuya Ishikura serves as assistant director, with Megumi Shimizu (Banished from the Hero’s Party) handling series composition. Akiko Toyoda (Girlfriend, Girlfriend) is in charge of character designs, while Kei Haneoka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) provides the music.
The anime is based on the light novel series officially published in English by J-Novel Club. The story follows Allen, a talented sorcerer who fails his royal court exam and seeks a quieter life. With no money for travel, he accepts a job as a private tutor for Tina, the daughter of Duke Howard. Though Tina is academically gifted, she cannot perform even basic magic—an issue that threatens her chances of entering the Royal Academy, where magical ability is required.
As Allen works to help Tina master her magic, he also finds himself entangled in deeper family and political mysteries. The duke’s true intentions remain unclear, adding another layer of intrigue to this magical tale.
