The upcoming anime adaptation of White Magician Exiled From the Hero Party, Picked Up by S-Rank Adventurer has revealed two new cast members. Based on the light novel series written by Sora Suigetsu and illustrated by DeeCHA, the anime adds Will, a mysterious alchemist, and Ryoen, a researcher for the kingdom, to its growing lineup.
Toshiki Masuda, known for his role as Sirius Dieke in My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, will voice Will. Nichika Omori, who voiced Yurine Hanazono in Dropkick on My Devil!, will voice Ryoen.
The anime is directed by Hiroshi Yamada (Saving 80,000 Gold in Another World for My Retirement) at Felix Film, with series composition by Akihiko Inari and character designs by Yuta Ito.
The novel has been serialized on the Japanese self-publishing platform Shousetsuka ni Narou since March 2020. The print edition, published by the M Novels imprint, has released seven volumes since November 2020. The manga adaptation, illustrated by Wasabi Mukuno, began publication under the Monster Comics imprint in May 2021.
The story follows Lloyd, a white magician who is expelled from the hero party for being deemed “not good enough.” Despite his dismissal, he joins an S-rank adventurer group and unknowingly gains fame as the party’s fortunes take a dramatic turn. The narrative explores the journey of an underwhelming support mage who, believing he’s ordinary, embarks on a path that reveals his extraordinary abilities.
