The upcoming TV anime “A Gatherer’s Adventure in Isekai”, based on Masuo Kinoko’s fantasy light novel series, will premiere in October 2025. The announcement was made today on the anime’s official website. Along with the premiere date, it was also revealed that Hiroshi Takaki, known for his work on Toilet-bound Hanako-kun, will compose the series’ music.
During the Machi Asobi event over the weekend, a special gathering was held to promote the anime. Popular Japanese cosplayer Tsukimi Tsukune appeared dressed as Brolite, the elf girl protagonist Takeru Kamishiro meets in his new life in the fantasy world of Madeus.
The anime is directed by Yoshinori Odaka (Mr. Villain’s Day Off) and is produced by Tatsunoko Production and SynergySP. Gigaemon Ichikawa (A Galaxy Next Door) is handling the series composition, while Mayumi Watanabe (Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms) is in charge of character designs.
Masuo Kinoko’s original novel won both the Grand Prize and Readers’ Prize at the 9th Alphapolis Fantasy Novel Award in 2016. Alphapolis began publishing the series in January 2017, and the latest 16th volume was released on March 30, 2025.
The manga adaptation, illustrated by Tomozo, started in November 2018 and has released eight volumes so far. Alphapolis Manga also publishes the English digital version of the manga.
The story follows Takeru Kamishiro, an ordinary office worker who is suddenly summoned to another world. In Madeus, a world filled with swords and magic, Takeru gains powerful abilities. Besides enhanced physical strength and magic, he receives a special “search” skill that lets him find valuable items. With these “cheat skills,” Takeru embarks on a new adventure in the isekai world.
