The Umamusume: Cinderella Gray anime, part of the popular Umamusume: Pretty Derby franchise, is entering a new story arc. To mark this, a new trailer, key visual, and cast updates have been released ahead of episode 7, which airs on May 18, 2025. The series is currently airing in Japan and streaming worldwide on YouTube.
Several voice actors from the original Umamusume video games will reprise their roles in the TV anime. The returning cast includes:
- Yumiri Hanamori as Dicta Striker
- Saya Aizawa as Mejiro Ardan
- Kana Yuki as Super Creek
- Ruriko Noguchi as Sakura Chiyono O
- Ayumi Hinohara as Yaeno Muteki
Umamusume: Cinderella Gray is based on the manga written by Masafumi Sugiura and illustrated by Taiyou Kuzumi, serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine. The anime is produced by CygamesPictures, with Yuki Ito directing. Aki Kindaichi handles the series composition, while Takuya Miyahara and Keisuke Sasaki are in charge of character designs.
The story follows Oguri Cap, a horse girl known for her wild and unconventional running style. As she trains at Kasamatsu Training Center Academy, her fierce determination earns her the nickname “monster” as she aims to become the strongest runner.
The Umamusume: Pretty Derby franchise reimagines real-life racehorses as horse girls with extraordinary speed. Beyond the current anime, fans can also watch other entries in the series. Crunchyroll streams Umamusume: Pretty Derby and its mini spin-off UMAYON.
