OceanVeil Launches as New Anime Streaming Platform Featuring Classic Mecha Titles

Anime continues to grow in popularity amid the streaming wars, and a new player has entered the market. OceanVeil, a dedicated anime streaming service, has launched with a unique focus on classic and retro anime, especially old-school mecha and cyberpunk titles.
One of the highlights of the service is Bubblegum Crash, the 1991 sequel to the cult-favorite cyberpunk OVA Bubblegum Crisis. Although often overlooked, Bubblegum Crash adds a lighter tone to the intense action of its predecessor. It blends cyberpunk and mecha genres with the “girls with guns” subgenre, which was especially popular in the 1980s and 1990s.
Other notable additions to the OceanVeil library include Metal Skin Panic MADOX-01, praised for its detailed animation, and Riding Bean, another fan-favorite from the retro anime era. One of the few modern titles joining the platform is Time of Eve, a more recent release compared to the rest of the collection.
These titles come to OceanVeil through licensing deals with AnimEigo and a new partnership with MVD Entertainment. Most of the content on the platform is intended for older audiences, and the service is known for offering a wide range of mature and ecchi-themed anime.
OceanVeil is now available for users to explore. Fans can sign up for a free account or choose an ad-free experience at $12.90 USD per month. The platform joins a growing list of anime-specific streaming services, with Crunchyroll remaining the most prominent name in the space.
