TOKYO — TV Tokyo has announced a live-action television adaptation of Stay By My Side After the Rain (Ameagari no Bokura ni Tsuite), a boys-love manga by Shoko Rakuta. The series will begin streaming on the U-NEXT platform on June 25 at 9:00 p.m. JST (8:00 a.m. EDT) and will air on several Japanese TV channels, including TV Tokyo, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, TV Hokkaido, TVQ, and TV Osaka, starting July 2.

The series is directed by Nobuyoshi Yamada and Masafumi Asami, with a script by Satoko Okazaki and music composed by Yuri Habuka.
Stay By My Side After the Rain follows Kanade, a closeted office worker who feels stuck in a life filled with monotony and regret. His world begins to brighten when he unexpectedly reunites with Mashiro, a former classmate and secret crush. As they reconnect, Kanade wonders if he’s being given a second chance at love.
The manga originally ran on Ichijinsha and pixiv’s Comic POOL website from August 2019 to August 2020. It was compiled into two volumes, with the final volume released in October 2020.
Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the manga for English release. Shoko Rakuta is also known for I’m Looking for Serious Love!, which was serialized in Overlap’s LiQulle magazine between 2018 and 2019 and published in a single volume.
