Kakegurui has previously been adapted into an anime series, two live-action dramas, and a live-action film. This new stage version brings its intense psychological drama and over-the-top gambling battles to life on stage.
Yen Press publishes the official English edition of the manga and describes the story as follows:
“Hyakkaou Private Academy is an elite institution where gambling determines social status. Students sharpen their skills in manipulation, strategy, and nerve through high-stakes games. But when new transfer student Yumeko Jabami arrives, her love for gambling and chaos threatens to upend the school’s power structure. At Hyakkaou, the winners live like royalty, and the losers face ruin—but Yumeko is here to play for thrill, not power.”
More details on ticket sales and additional visuals are expected in the coming months as the production prepares for its September premiere.
