The latest magical idol anime, Maebashi Witches, is now available for streaming on Crunchyroll. Fans can enjoy the series’ catchy opening and ending sequences, complete with sing-along opportunities.
Directed by Junichi Yamamoto (More than a Married Couple, but Not Lovers.) at SUNRISE Studios, Maebashi Witches features a script by Erika Yoshida (BOCCHI THE ROCK!). The series’ character designs, adapted by Nozomi Tachibana (Kemono Jihen), are based on the original artwork by Yu Inami. Yuri Habuka is in charge of the music for the show.
The series introduces five new voice actors who play aspiring witches from Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture, alongside an industry veteran. The core cast includes:
- Yuina Akagi, voiced by Sakura Kasuga
- Azu Niisato, voiced by Hinano Sakikawa
- Kyoka Kitahara, voiced by Rena Motomura
- Choco Mitsumata, voiced by Haruka Minami
- Mai Kamiizumi, voiced by Honami Momose
- Keroppe, voiced by Tomokazu Sugita
The anime is set in Maebashi City, where first-year high school student Yuina Akagi’s quiet life is suddenly turned upside down when a mysterious frog named Keroppe asks, “Why don’t you become a witch?” Along with Azu, Kyoka, Choco, and Mai, Yuina embarks on a magical journey as part of the Maebashi Witches, helping to make people’s dreams come true.
