A new subtitled trailer has been released for Dan Da Dan Season 2, set to premiere on July 3. The trailer features a preview of the new opening theme song, “On the Way,” performed by AiNA THE END.
AiNA THE END, a former member of punk-rock group BiSH, expressed her excitement about the project. “I am so pleased to announce that I have written ‘On The Way,’ the opening theme for the second season of Dan Da Dan,” she said. “I really love Dan Da Dan, both the original manga and the anime, and I poured my heart into this song. It reflects the bittersweet emotions of love while fighting and protecting what matters most. It also captures the feelings of Momo and Okarun. I hope it brings comfort to anyone feeling lost.”
The singer has previously contributed music to Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury Season 2 and The Apothecary Diaries.
In addition to the new season, a special film titled Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye will be released in North American theaters on June 6. The movie will bridge the end of Season 1 and the beginning of Season 2.
Series Overview:
Dan Da Dan follows Momo, a high school girl from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun, an occult enthusiast. In the upcoming arc, the two travel to a hot springs town where Momo’s childhood friend Jiji has rented a home. Their goal is to investigate a mystery involving Jiji’s family. However, the arrival of strange locals quickly complicates their plans, revealing that the town holds deeper secrets than expected.
Based on the manga by Yukinobu Tatsu, Dan Da Dan is a fast-paced blend of sci-fi, horror, and comedy. The new season continues under the direction of Fuga Yamashiro and Abel Gongora, with animation by Science SARU (The Colors Within, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off) and music by Kensuke Ushio (Chainsaw Man).
