WWWave Corporation has unveiled new details for the upcoming anime adaptation of Chuhai Lips: Canned Flavor of Married Women (Hitozuma no Kuchibiru wa Kan Chūhai no Aji ga Shite), based on the manga by writer Chinjao Musume and artist Tama Nogami. A new character promotional video was released on Friday, alongside the announcement of more cast members.
The series will premiere in July 2025 and will be available in two versions: a “broadcast edition” and a “Deregula edition”, the latter produced under WWWave’s adult-content Deregula label.
Voice actress Madoka Asahina plays Ai Natsuno, a tanned, married gyaru, in the broadcast edition. In the Deregula edition, the character is voiced by Kokko Mikazuki.
The anime also stars:
- Takahide Ishii / Men Kaidō as Tsuyoshi
- Shiho Kawaragi / Miyu Anno as Yui Koriyama
Hajime Keima directs the series at studio raiose, while also handling the series composition. Yoriko Karei is in charge of character design and color supervision. Other key staff include Yutaka Aota as art director, Tomohiro Hayashi as compositing director and editor, and Fumihiko Odera as sound director.
The anime follows Tsuyoshi, a college student who enjoys strong canned chūhai—a type of Japanese alcoholic drink—and his flirtatious encounters with a variety of married women. The title references the mix of desire and flavor that defines these encounters, metaphorically linking lips and chūhai.
The series is the second announced project under WWWave’s Deregula label, following Yandere Dark Elf: She Chased Me All the Way From Another World!. The label is also producing Does It Count If You Lose Your Virginity to an Android?, based on the manga by Yakinikuteishoku.
The original Chuhai Lips manga debuted on Kodansha’s YanMaga Web in February 2021, and its “luxurious full-color strong edition” began publication in June 2024. The third volume was released on November 20, 2024.
