The epic journey of Thunderbolt Fantasy reaches its dramatic conclusion with the release of Sword Seekers – The Finale, now streaming on Crunchyroll as of May 28 at 5:00 p.m. PT.
The film is available worldwide, with the exception of Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao, and Thailand. Subtitle options include English, French, and German.
Originally released in Japanese theaters in February 2025, Sword Seekers – The Finale concludes the high-stakes adventures of Shāng Bù Huàn and the legendary sword seekers.
Created and written by Gen Urobuchi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Psycho-Pass), Thunderbolt Fantasy premiered in 2016. The series has since expanded to include four seasons—airing in 2016, 2018, 2021, and 2024—as well as two previous films: The Sword of Life and Death (2017) and Bewitching Melody of the West (2019).
The entire franchise, including the latest movie and earlier seasons, is currently available for streaming on Crunchyroll.
Presented through traditional Taiwanese puppetry, Thunderbolt Fantasy blends regional heritage with Japanese storytelling. The series features original designs by Good Smile Company, a dramatic soundtrack by Hiroyuki Sawano, and is co-produced by Pili International Multimedia.
