Yanmar Holdings Co., Ltd. has unveiled the five animation studios chosen to create its original eco-themed sci-fi anime anthology, Miru: Paths to My Future. Set to air on Japanese terrestrial TV in April 2025, the five-episode series explores the role of robots in shaping humanity’s future.
The five studios responsible for each episode are:
Episode 079: LinQ
Episode 101: TriF Studio
Episode 217: SCOOTER FILMS×SHIROGUMI
Episode 630: REIRS
Episode 926: LARX×Studio HIBARI
The series is executive produced by Masuo Ueda, known for his work on Mobile Suit Gundam III: Encounters in Space, with production support from Skyfall Co., Ltd. and planning cooperation from btrax Japan, LLC.
Series Overview
In a distant future, humans create a time-traveling robot named MIRU, which can visit different eras, places, and even parallel worlds. Unlike other robots, MIRU is not armed with weapons but instead helps people face challenges peacefully, promoting non-violent solutions for new beginnings.
As MIRU evolves through its interactions with humans, it helps them overcome struggles, setting off a “Butterfly Effect” that leads to significant positive change, guiding society toward a brighter future. The series raises questions about MIRU’s purpose: Was it created to save the Earth? Can it prevent a dystopian future? Through this story, the anime aims to inspire viewers to believe that “the future is in our hands.”
