The anime adaptation of Kazune Kawahara’s A Star Brighter than the Sun has unveiled its first trailer, visual, and cast details ahead of its October 2025 premiere. The series, which explores the blossoming romance between childhood friends, promises a heartfelt journey of discovery.
The main cast includes:
- Sae Iwata, voiced by Minori Fujidera (Flower and Asura),
- Koki Kamishiro, voiced by Yuki Ono (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable).
The anime is directed by Aya Kobayashi, known for her work on My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999, and produced by Studio KAI. The series composition is handled by Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Kaguya-sama: Love is War), with Zeng Jinfeng designing the characters. The music is composed by Tabuchi Natsumi and Sakurai Miki.
The A Star Brighter than the Sun manga has been serialized in Bessatsu Margaret and currently spans ten volumes. VIZ Media began publishing the English version in March, with the first volume available. The story centers on Sae and Koki, lifelong friends who begin to realize their feelings for each other as they enter high school. However, Sae soon learns she’s not the only one with romantic feelings for Koki.
