The popular idol-themed anime franchises Aikatsu! and Pripara are teaming up for a new theatrical movie, titled Aikatsu! × Pripara THE MOVIE -Deai no Kiseki! (“The Miracle of Encounter”). The film, featuring an original story and new live performances, is set to release in Japan this fall.
A teaser trailer and visual have been revealed on the film’s official website and X (formerly Twitter). Both showcase Akari Ozora, the protagonist from the latter half of Aikatsu!, and Laala Manaka, the lead character from Pripara and its sequel, Idol Time Pripara. The teaser’s tagline reads: “A dream project filled with 10 years of love embarks!”
Aikatsu! debuted in September 2012, and Pripara followed in July 2014. Both series remain beloved by fans, with numerous sequels and spin-offs expanding their universes.
The movie will be directed by Takahiro Okawa, known for his work on Aikatsu Stars! and Aikatsu Friends!, and the screenplay is penned by Michihiro Tsuchiya at Bandai Namco Pictures. Ryuichi Kimura (director of Aikatsu!) and Makoto Moriwaki (director of Pripara) are attached as supervisors.
As of now, the confirmed voice cast includes Shino Shimoji as Akari Ozora and Himika Akaneya as Laala Manaka.
