The Apothecary Diaries has unveiled a special winter visual for February, showcasing Jinshi and Basen strolling down a path lined with yellow flowers. The anime has been sharing monthly seasonal visuals on the 22nd of each month, known as Nekoneko Day.

Season 2 of The Apothecary Diaries is currently airing and will run for two consecutive cours. Animation studios OLM and TOHO Animation are returning to bring the series to life, with Norihiro Naganuma directing. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime.

Natsu Hyuga writes the The Apothecary Diaries light novel, illustrated by Toko Shino, and serialized by Shunfunotomo. The series also has two manga adaptations: one by Itsuki Nanao and illustrated by Nekokurage, published by Square Enix in Monthly GanGan, and another written and illustrated by Minoji Kurata, published by Shogakukan in Monthly Sunday Gene-X.
J-Novel Club is publishing the light novel in English, while Square Enix handles the manga. The story follows Maomao, a young apothecary who is sold to the emperor’s palace as a lowly servant. With her independent spirit, Maomao finds herself helping Jinshi, a handsome palace official. As she rises in rank, her adventures continue, and she unknowingly causes Jinshi to fall for her even more.
