Hyakuemu (also known as 100m), an upcoming anime film based on the sports manga by Uoto, has unveiled a new trailer and teaser art ahead of its theatrical debut in Japan on September 19, 2025.
The original Hyakuemu manga was serialized by Kodansha in its Magazine Pocket from November 2019 to August 2020, and was later released in five collected volumes. The film is directed by Kenji Iwaisawa at the animation studio Rock ‘n’ Roll Museum. Keisuke Kojima, who also serves as chief animation director, provides the character designs, while Hiroaki Tsutsumi composes the film’s music. The voice cast features Tori Matsuzaka as Togashi and Shota Sometani as Komiya.
Plot Overview:
Togashi is a natural-born runner, effortlessly winning every 100-meter race as a child. However, his life takes a turn in sixth grade when he meets Komiya, a transfer student who is determined but lacks the skills to match Togashi’s talent. Togashi helps Komiya hone his technique, giving him a new drive: to win at any cost. As the years pass, the two reunite as rivals on the track, revealing their true selves in a fierce showdown.
