Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback, the 28th film in the Detective Conan anime franchise, has crossed the 10 billion yen milestone in just 19 days since its release on April 18, 2025. The film earned 10.4 billion yen (approximately 72.66 million USD) from 7.26 million admissions by May 6, 2025.
The film joins the ranks of its predecessors, Black Iron Submarine (2023) and The Million-dollar Pentagram (2024), both of which surpassed the 10 billion yen mark. Black Iron Submarine earned 10.3 billion yen in its first 24 days, while The Million-dollar Pentagram made 10.5 billion yen in 22 days.
To mark this achievement, a celebratory illustration by Detective Conan creator Gosho Aoyama was released. Additionally, TOHO Movies shared a special video on their official YouTube channel, featuring the film’s theme song, “TWILIGHT!!!” by King Gnu, along with new scenes and highlights from the movie.
From May 30, the film will also screen in SCREENX and ULTRA 4DX theaters across Japan for the first time in the Detective Conan franchise. New footage related to the upcoming 29th film will be shown as part of the post-credits scenes in all theaters.
Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback opened in a record-breaking 522 theaters across Japan, the largest number in franchise history. The film earned 1.05 billion yen (7.38 million USD) from 690,000 admissions on its opening day and remained at the top of the box office for two consecutive weekends.
The movie is directed by Katsuya Shigehara (who worked on Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine), with Takeharu Sakurai handling the script.
