The official website for Yoroiden Samurai Trooper (also known as Ronin Warriors or Samurai Troopers in English) has announced an anniversary screening event set to take place at the Shinjuku Piccadilly theater in Tokyo on June 11, 2025.
The original Yoroiden Samurai Trooper TV anime aired 39 episodes from April 1988 to March 1989, followed by three OVA series released between 1989 and 1991. To mark its 30th anniversary, a special Blu-ray box set was released in December 2018.
Now, 37 years after its original broadcast, the anniversary event will feature screenings of three selected episodes from the TV series. The event will also include a stage greeting with Takeshi Kusao, the voice of protagonist Ryo Sanada, and Hideo Okamoto, the original designer of the series’ iconic yoroi battle suits. Tickets for the event will be priced at 3,500 yen and are available for purchase on Ticket Pia from May 5 to May 28.
Crunchyroll is currently streaming Samurai Troopers and describes the series as follows:
Long ago, an evil spirit known as Arago waged war to conquer the human world. Though he was defeated and banished to the realm of darkness, Arago vowed to return for revenge. A thousand years later, the world has forgotten the name of Arago, the Emperor of Doom. But when black clouds obscure the bright lights of Shinjuku and an ominous laugh fills the air, the people of the world are unprepared for his sinister return.
