The official website for Lupin the IIIrd the Movie: Fujimi no Ketsuzoku (The Immortal Bloodline) has announced that popular Japanese comedy duo Kuki Kaidan will make a guest voice appearance in the upcoming feature film.
Formed in 2012, Kuki Kaidan—consisting of Mogura Suzuki and Katamari Mizukawa—rose to national fame after winning the prestigious King of Conte comedy competition in 2021. In their anime debut, the pair will voice two eccentric characters known as the “Gomi Ningen” (“Garbage Men”), who reside on an uncharted island in the Bermuda Triangle—an unusual setting that Lupin and his crew will explore in the film.
Suzuki lends his voice to Luuo, a character described as having a bare mechanical body and a long, snake-like neck. Expressing his excitement, Suzuki commented, “I never imagined I would ever be part of Lupin III. The artificial hip changed the course of my life! See you at the theater!”
Mizukawa voices Fuua, a powerfully built figure clad in a suit and sunglasses, who unleashes intense energy from his massive mechanized hand. He enthusiastically stated, “I was given a major role in Lupin the IIIrd the Movie, and as MIZUKAWA THE IIIRD, I expanded my nostrils to the fullest and gave it my all. Please let me steal it. Please let me steal it. Please let me steal it!”
The film marks the first 2D Lupin anime feature in nearly three decades, following Lupin the Third: Dead or Alive in 1996. Lupin the IIIrd: The Immortal Bloodline is scheduled to premiere in Japanese theaters on June 27, 2025.
Ahead of the film’s release, a prequel episode titled Lupin the IIIrd: Zenigata to Futari no Lupin (Zenigata and Two Lupins) will stream on Japanese platforms starting June 20.
The addition of Kuki Kaidan adds a comedic twist to what promises to be a bold return for the iconic gentleman thief in 2D animation.
