Kenji Tsurubuchi, best known for Touge Oni: Primal Gods in Ancient Times, has launched a new dark fantasy manga titled Meaheim. The prologue and first two chapters were released on Thursday through Kodansha’s Morning two web magazine.
Illustrated by artist Konata, Meaheim follows the journey of a scholar named Ren, who ventures into a mysterious, godless underworld in search of a cure for his ailing younger brother. Guided by a companion named Tobias, Ren explores a bizarre realm where gold flows like water and rotten fruit returns to its tree in reverse decay. The story weaves elements of dark fantasy and adventure.
Tsurubuchi previously created meth-e-meth, which debuted in 2011 in Manga Time Kirara Forward, published by Houbunsha. A complete edition of the series was released by Kadokawa in April 2023. Yen Press published the English version and released the compiled volume on March 11.
In addition to Meaheim, Tsurubuchi continues his work on Touge Oni. Yen Press is set to publish the sixth English volume of the series on July 15.
