The official Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba account on X (formerly Twitter) has issued a legal warning following the leak of a new Infinity Castle Arc trailer. The trailer, which is exclusive to the theater, was secretly recorded during the revival screenings of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train and shared online.
The official statement reads:
“A secretly recorded video of the theater-exclusive trailer for the Infinity Castle Arc has been found on the internet. This footage was recorded at the end of the main feature in the currently-showing revival screening of Mugen Train.”
The warning emphasizes that filming in a theater without permission is illegal under Japan’s Law for Prevention of Unauthorized Recording of Films. It also states that uploading such recordings to platforms like X, YouTube, TikTok, or Facebook constitutes copyright infringement. Those caught violating the law could face up to 10 years in prison, a 10 million yen fine, or both.
The current revival screenings of Mugen Train in Japan began on May 9, showcasing the trailer for the Infinity Castle Arc. Crunchyroll confirmed that North American screenings will begin on May 14. The Infinity Castle Arc film will premiere in Japan on July 18, with a global release starting August 14.
Crunchyroll streams all seasons of the Demon Slayer anime and will distribute the Infinity Castle film worldwide (excluding select Asian territories) in collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment.
