The Rose of Versailles Anime Film Set for Spring 2025 Release

The highly anticipated new anime film adaptation of The Rose of Versailles is set to premiere in Japan in early Spring 2025, with renowned studio MAPPA handling the animation production. A new key visual and teaser trailer have been released, alongside the announcement of the voice cast and production staff.

Synopsis of the Original Series:

Raised from birth as a man, the Lady Oscar commands the palace guards at Versailles in the years leading up to the French Revolution. Her beauty and noble spirit make her a revered figure to both men and women, but she is caught between her duty to her class and country and her own heart and desires. Living among the opulence of Versailles, Oscar’s keen senses and compassion make her acutely aware of the French people’s suffering.

This new adaptation promises to bring the timeless story to life with stunning visuals and a captivating score, appealing to both longtime fans and new audiences.
