The official website for Eiga Crayon Shin-chan: Chō Karei! Shakunetsu no Kasukabe Dancers (Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: Super Magnificent! Scorching Kasukabe Dancers) has announced additional cast members for the upcoming anime film. Set to open in Japanese theaters on August 8, this will be the 32nd 2D animated film in the long-running franchise.
The newly announced voice cast includes:
- Asami Seto as Ariana, a popular Indian woman
- Kōichi Yamadera as Kabir, a skilled detective known for his exceptional mental and physical abilities
- Shō Hayami as Dir, a multilingual detective who can speak every language in the world
- Noriko Hidaka as Sugoi Cube, an AI-equipped device created by the wealthy entrepreneur Wolf
- Katsuhisa Hōki as Fragtaterde, a suspicious shop manager in India
- Chika Sakamoto as Latel, a candidate hoping to become Wolf’s partner
Previously revealed, Kento Kaku will voice Wolf, a charismatic Indian billionaire who dances and sings.
A New Direction for the Series
This entry marks the first-ever dance-themed film in the Crayon Shin-chan series and the first to be set in India, where the franchise enjoys significant popularity. In the story, Shinnosuke and the Kasukabe Defense Force find themselves caught up in a high-energy dance adventure.
Creative Team
The film is directed by Masakazu Hashimoto, a veteran of the franchise who also directed the 30th film, Eiga Crayon Shin-chan: Mononoke Ninja Chinpūden. The screenplay is written by Kimiko Ueno, returning from her previous work on multiple Shin-chan films, including Shinkon Ryokō Hurricane and Mononoke Ninja Chinpūden.
Franchise Background
The previous film, Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: Our Dinosaur Diary, premiered in Japan on August 9, 2024, debuting at #2 at the box office. It sold 365,000 tickets and earned 455 million yen (approx. US$3.05 million) in its first three days. By the fourth day, which included the Mountain Day holiday, it had sold 510,000 tickets and grossed 636 million yen (approx. US$4.32 million).
With its vibrant setting and dance-focused story, Super Magnificent! Scorching Kasukabe Dancers promises a fresh and entertaining experience for fans both in Japan and abroad.
